The Veg Shed

Sustainability and the environment are keywords at the plough. When we took over the plough little did we know the site also came with a sustainable piece of land. This has now become our allotment allowing us the fantastic opportunity to grow a large amount of our own fruit, salad, flowers and vegetables here on site. Investment in our own full-time Gardner along with a rainwater harvesting system, poly tunnels, greenhouses and fruit cages place us in a very enviable position to offer homegrown produce in our meals – and how much different it tastes when it's been picked fresh that day. Now with the addition of three further team members and a new purpose-built sales facility we are able to supply our fantastic produce to the general public. The veg shed will supply a large range of fresh fruit and vegetables alongside cut flowers, plants, home-made chutneys and Rutland honey. Whilst we appreciate not every item can be grown on site our ethos here at the veg shed though is all about locally sourced fresh, sustainable and seasonal produce.
